Over 300,000 arrests occur in NYC every year, most of which are in low-income communities for low level misdemeanors. Today, the lack of adequate legal support after an arrest leads to devastating consequences and wrongful jail time. Good Call’s goal is to provide all New Yorkers with a fairer court outcome, regardless of who they are, where they’re from, or how much money they make so that no one goes to jail for the wrong reasons.
Good Call is a nonprofit that runs a completely free 24/7 arrest support hotline that allows anyone to connect with a lawyer right away if they or a loved one are arrested in NYC.
The four founders met through Blue Ridge Labs at the Robin Hood Foundation, a social impact incubator aimed at building technology to address problems faced by low income New Yorkers.
