Although there are thousands of food resources available to support New Yorkers in need, still three out four people do not receive help. The Lemontree Food Helpline addresses this disparity by connecting New Yorkers who suffer from food insecurity to their nearest food pantries and soup kitchens and helping individuals apply for SNAP Benefits.
Lemontree Foods began as a nonprofit meal-kit start-up designed to connect low-income NYC families with delicious, nutritious, and affordable dinners. To address the food insecurity crisis brought on by COVID-19, they expanded their services to create In It Together, a program that matches volunteers with nonprofits; and most recently, their Food Helpline, which connects New Yorkers to free food resources in their vicinity. Lemontree Foods is committed to evolving to meet the needs of their community to ensure that no New Yorker goes hungry.
