The COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted life in our city, but democracy continues. New Yorkers’ choices about their elected leaders are as important as ever. A Democratic primary for President and primary elections for Congress, State Senate, State Assembly, and Queens Borough President will be held on Tuesday, June 23.
All New Yorkers eligible to vote on June 23 may do so by mail; in order to vote by mail, you must request your absentee ballot by tomorrow, June 16. If you wish to vote absentee due to the pandemic, indicate that the reason is “temporary illness.” You may request your absentee ballot online to be sent to a location of your choice.

The Mayor’s Democracy NYC Initiative aims to increase voter registrations and civic engagement in New York City, while also empowering New Yorkers to participate in all elections.
DemocracyNYC was first announced by Mayor Bill de Blasio in his 2018 State of the City address, detailing a robust 10-Point Plan to make New York City the fairest, most civically engaged big city in America.
A healthy democracy is dependent on active civic participation and F.Y. Eye encourages all our partners, hosts, colleagues, and friends to help get out the vote this June!
