The deadline to register to vote in the upcoming Presidential election is October 9th and new voter registrations in New York City are down by 49 percent in 2020 compared to 2016. New York City’s youngest voters are the most impacted by this registration decline. More than 400,000 people living in NYC between the ages of 18 and 29 are eligible to vote but remain unregistered. It takes about five minutes to register to vote. If you haven’t already, register here now by clicking here: nycvotes.turbovote.org

Keeping voters safe and informed during a pandemic is too big a challenge for any one organization! Nonprofits, government agencies, and community-based organizations across the city have been working together. This PSA comes from several youth engagement organizations, including NYC Votes (an initiative of the city’s Campaign Finance Board), YVote, Generation Citizen, NYC Department of Youth and Community Development, and F.Y. Eye. Together, these organizations are getting young voters the accurate, trustworthy, consistent information they need to participate.
